Child Custody and Depositions

Custody is almost always the messiest part of family law. Parents fighting over their children, concerns over what the children are doing with the other, etc. So many times one parent has multiple versions of the same event. All together it raises concerns on all sides and makes settlement even more difficult. Depositions are a good way to take care of that. Depositions are a chance for all parties to sit down and answer questions under oath. This means that they everyone swears to tell the truth and has all of their answers recorded. These recordings can be used in court, to show conflicting testimony. Another benefit is that once someone has been sworn to their testimony, that testimony becomes the basis on which settlement negotiations can be founded. Overall, depositions are beneficial, and should be utilized in messy custody battles.
