Federal Attorney
It’s amazing the lengths that people will go to in order to defraud or take advantage of someone. Two men went to a local car dealership under the pretense of doing a test-drive. They then pretended to be detectives and called an elderly man. They then attempted to extort the man by taking him to a local bank to have him wire money to an undisclosed bank account according to a Greensboro attorney.
Our federal attorney then found out that the bank teller called 911 before the transaction went through. Police ended up tracking down the vehicle and arrested one of the men. He was charged with Felony extortion, obtaining property by false pretenses and a number of other charges. The other man is still running and at large, police said do not approach the man because he is considered to be extremely dangerous. These men could eventually face federal criminal charges.
