In Norfolk Virginia on Tuesday, three Somali Pirates were sentenced for attacking a Navy ship that they thought was a merchant ship in the Gulf of Aden. U.S. Sailors on the boat fired on the pirates, killing one and capturing the rest.
Two of the pirates received life sentences, while a third received a term of 30 to 42 ½ years in return for cooperating with investigators.
