It’s been a rather crazy week in the Greensboro and surrounding area. This week a man barricaded himself inside of a shed and after a rather lengthy standoff, shot himself and survived.
This all started with a bit of a crime spree in Greensboro. Initially, the man was a suspect in a kidnapping and Greensboro Felony Armed Robbery that happened a half hour apart. Our Greensboro Felony Lawyers also found that he was a suspect in an out of Guilford County Felony Flee to Elude. The man led a North Carolina Highway Patrolmen on a high speed chase on US 220.
A woman had called 911 stating where he was and that she was worried he may kill her and had tried to murder her the week before. Guilford County deputies arrived on scene and escorted the woman to safety. They called in a helicopter due to the Felony Charges the man was facing.
The Guilford County Deputies spent hours negotiating with the man, until they heard a gunshot inside the shed. They went into the shed and found the man bleeding from a self-inflicted gunshot.
The man had three previous convictions for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, DUI, and Driving While License Revoked. Currently, he has outstanding orders for arrest for Felony Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Carrying a Concealed Gun.
Our Greensboro Felony Lawyers see it all on a day to day basis. Sadly, it appears this man may have been suffering from some sort of mental health issue for him to pick up so many Felony Charges in such a short amount of time. Our Greensboro Criminal Lawyers are here to help!
