A motor vehicle law violation, while operating a commercial vehicle, may be assessed double the amount of any fine or penalty authorized by statute (N.C.G.S. § 20-16.01).

A PJC in a case involving a commercial license holder, or involving a commercial vehicle, is considered a conviction.
