Now that North Carolina’s “marriage amendment” has been found to be unconstitutional, same sex marriage licenses have been issued throughout the state. Congratulations to all the happy couples who are finally able to enjoy the rights and privileges associated with marriage!
On the flip side, same-sex couples who were previously married in another state can now get divorced in North Carolina if they so desire. Prior to the federal judge’s recent decision, a same-sex couple could not get divorced within our state.
